DVAA BOARD MEETING MINUTES

March 16, 2012

Secretary's Report:

The Board met on March 16, prior to the members' meeting, held in the Community Room of the Greenfield police station. In Edith's absence, Annette chaired the meeting. A secretary's report of the February 17 meeting was read. The report was discussed and accepted.

There was no formal treasurer's report. David stated that to date, there had been a total income of $2,200 (sales and sales tax) from the Wilson's Winter Show.

We continued to discuss and fine-tune the 2012 program.

April 19 (Thur.): Genevieve Abate: still life demo at GCC's downtown center. Though the day changes from Friday to Thursday the usual times apply. We'll also receive for the show to hang at the same location from 4:30 - 8:00.

April - July 20: A DVAA exhibit at the GCC Downtown Center

May 18: Louise Minks hosts a plein aire day at the Book Mill (weather permitting) We'll need to determine times (to be published in the newsletter), and whether or not the board will meet on this date. If we do meet, does Louise have a suggestion as to where?

June 15: Cynthia Herbert: fiber arts demo. This will take place at her studio in Colrain. We have directions on file, because of the paint-out held on her farm last summer. Again, the question was if the board would meet on that date and on site.

July 18 - August 6: DVAA Summer Show (at Wilson's)

August 25 (Saturday): a plein aire workshop at the U.U. Church, Bernardston, sponsored by DVAA and the Meeting House Artists: 10am-2pm, in preparation for the OUR STORIES exhibit.

August 29: receiving for OUR STORIES exhibit (10am - noon) up to 3 paintings, $10 hanging fee.

September 8 - October 8: Fall Exhibit OUR STORIES: A Sense of Place in Images and Words

September 22: OUR STORIES: A Sense of Place in Images and Words reception event in conjunction with Bernardston's 250th anniversary and Old Home Days. Meeting House tours 12-2, Sense of Place story telling event 2-4, Exhibit's Artist Reception 4-5:30

October 10: Artists' pick-up 10-noon

October 19: Annual Meeting

November 16: Board Meeting to Plan for 2013
